The Process |
In the USA nurses are licensed by each state. Due to this one has to decide which state one is interested
in and then meet the requirements put forth by that state's professional licensing organisation inorder to
obtain a license to practice in that state.
In general the following is the process that a FNG needs to pursue to start a career in the USA:
- Credentials Verification
- Pass the NCLEX-RN Exam
- Obtain License from State Board of Nursing
- Pass an English language proficiency exam
- Obtain Visa Screen Certificate from CGFNS
- Apply for a US Visa/Green Card
